Celebrating Excellence: Erin Oulton Recognized as SWANA’s Young Professional of the Year 

We are thrilled to announce that Erin Oulton, RRS consultant, has been honored as one of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)’s Young Professionals of the Year for 2024. This prestigious award recognizes Erin’s exceptional contributions to the solid waste and resource management industry, highlighting her commitment to advancing sustainable solutions and her leadership within the field.

Erin joined RRS with a decade of experience in solid waste, recycling, and sustainability. Her journey in the industry began at GT Environmental, where she specialized in solid waste planning, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Since joining RRS, Erin has spearheaded numerous high-impact projects across multiple states, from zero-waste initiatives to comprehensive solid waste management plan updates.

Erin’s expertise extends beyond her work at RRS. She serves as the assistant treasurer for the Association of Ohio Recyclers and chairs SWANA’s Region 9 Young Professional Representatives, demonstrating her leadership and dedication to fostering growth and innovation within the industry.

Her recognition by SWANA is a testament to her hard work, performance, and unwavering dedication to the solid waste and resource management industry. This award not only celebrates her individual achievements but also underscores the importance of nurturing the next generation of professionals who are passionate about creating sustainable solutions.

Erin will be formally recognized at SWANA’s annual conference, WASTECON 2024, in Grapevine, Texas, this October.
