Images of a clean-energy future tend to feature wind turbines and solar panels, iconic symbols of the struggle to halt global warming. But the United States is pursuing a much wider range of solutions to drive down greenhouse gas emissions. Soon, a direct air capture facility, or a carbon capture and storage project, or a clean hydrogen hub could be proposed in a town near you. Maybe one already has. Two recent laws — last year’s bipartisan infrastructure legislation and this year’s Inflation Reduction Act — offer developers billions of dollars to build these kinds of projects.
Experts say these technologies are needed to tackle climate change. They can help cut carbon from hard-to-decarbonize parts of the economy that cannot simply switch over to renewable electricity. But there are very few large-scale examples operating today. To help people visualize what …
Christmas animals – a list of animals associated with Christmas, with pictures and facts.
Animals play a central part in Christmas celebrations in many parts of the world. On this page we take a look at animals associated with Christmas. We’ll discover what part they play in Yuletide celebrations, and also find out about the animals themselves…

Reindeer are large deer found in cold northerly regions in the northern hemisphere. Although they’re the same species, reindeer found in North America are known as ‘caribou’.
Reindeer (caribou) in Canada make the longest migration of any (non-flying) land animal. In a single year they can travel as far as 3,000 miles / 5,000 km.
Reindeer have become closely associated with Christmas since the early nineteenth century. In the traditional festive legend, Santa …

Washington, DC, November 29, 2022 – Today, the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC), R Street Institute, Taxpayers for Common Sense (TCS), and U.S. PIRG released a joint set of farm bill reform principles in preparation for the 2023 Farm Bill reauthorization.
“NSAC is grateful for our partners who recognize that this is a pivotal moment to support farmers, especially beginning, diverse, and socially disadvantaged farmers most frequently left out of farm programs.” said Billy Hackett, Policy Specialist. “We must also steward a more responsible and responsive use of public dollars which creates returns on consumer investment, including production of more nutrient-dense foods.”
This joint letter represents …

Arthropods examples from major groups, including insects, crustaceans, arachnids, myriapods, and more.
Examples of arthropods include insects such as flies, bees, beetles, and ants; crustaceans such as barnacles, crabs, lobsters and krill; myriapods such as centipedes and millipedes; arachnids such as spiders, scorpions and camel spiders, and extinct animals such as trilobites.
Below is a list examples of arthropods from major groups. Click on a group name / image for information on a particular arthropod, or continue scrolling to browse all of the animals.
Chelicerata (the arthropod group that contains the arachnids and related animals)
Myriapoda (the arthropod group that is home to millipedes and centipedes)
Pancrustacea (a large arthropod group containing crustaceans and hexapods)
