RRS ANNOUNCES NEW SHAREHOLDERS
May 7, 2021, Ann Arbor, Mich. – Resource Recycling Systems (RRS) is pleased to announce the addition of four new shareholders: Anna Lynott, Catherine Goodall, Juri Freeman, and Resa Dimino.
As RRS shareholders, these new members will share in the responsibility to ensure the firm operates efficiently and is properly managed, as well as to protect the firm’s long-term financial and economic interests.
“For 35 years, RRS has been researching, planning, and supporting organizations on their paths to increased material recovery and improved sustainability,” said Jim Frey, RRS co-founder and CEO. “In a similar fashion, RRS has been creating and building pathways for internal growth. We are excited to bring new leadership, expertise, and perspective to our ownership.”
Anna Lynott joined RRS in 2006 and is based in the Petoskey, MI area. She leads large, multi-year projects including the drive to increase access to carton recycling with the Carton Council of North America and the collection of infrastructure and materials management data on all municipalities in Michigan’s 83 counties.
Catherine Goodall, based in Berlin, Germany, has been with RRS since 2013. She supports corporate clients in understanding the international waste and recovery landscape and optimizing their packaging for recovery. She also leads collaborative projects such as a multi-year effort with the Foodservice Packaging Institute (FPI) to increase the recovery of foodservice packaging by expanding post-consumer end markets and residential program acceptance.
Based out of the RRS office in Boulder, CO, Juri Freeman helps to drive public sector engagement. Since joining RRS in 2016, Juri led the efforts with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to develop Colorado NextCycle and is a major contributor to the NextCycle Michigan initiative. The NextCycle programs aim to develop recovered material end markets, improve material recovery infrastructure, and bolster local circular economies.
Resa Dimino joined RRS in 2017. From her home base near Albany, NY, Resa focuses on plastic recovery, policy development, and extended producer responsibility (EPR). She has led several projects with the Canadian Stewardship Services Alliance (CSSA) for conceptual system design, cost modeling, field testing and measurement, and material cost differentiation, and has been a key driver to several plastic recovery studies and guidelines.
“As we see continued growth in the material management and recovery industry, so too do we see growth within RRS to meet and surpass marketplace expectations,” said Brianne Haven, vice president of operations at RRS. “The four new shareholders are significant contributors to building RRS, its internal teams and services, as well as having positive impacts on our clients and the marketplace.”
All four new shareholders have also been integral in the development and improvement of RRS’ project management methodology, mentorship of staff, and representation of brand to the marketplace.
