RRS’ SANDFORD AND SEGUNDO TAKE ON NEW ROLES
Thirty-five years ago, Kerry Sandford and Jim Frey founded RRS. Through the years Mr. Sandford has utilized his knowledge and experience of recycling systems including material recovery facility (MRF) design, cost modeling, equipment testing, and innovative technologies integration to advance the recovery of materials.
Mr. Sandford is starting a new chapter in his already accomplished career and taking an appointment with the REMADE Institute as the lead for the Recycling and Recovery Node. Mr. Sandford will continue to contribute to projects and supporting clients at RRS, as well as mentoring fellow RRS engineers.
“Kerry has played an integral role, not only with RRS but with the recycling system as a whole, in helping to define, develop, and refine this evolving industry,” said Jim Frey, co-founder and CEO of RRS. “His role with the REMADE Institute will continue that influence, while still continuing to support our staff and clients as part of the RRS team.”
Marissa Segundo joined RRS in 2015 as a communications consultant utilizing her skills in strategic planning, media relations, and outreach methods to enhance client projects needing communications support, with special focus on municipalities.
RRS has promoted Ms. Segundo to senior communications strategist. In this role, Ms. Segundo will continue to lead many of RRS’ client communication projects but will also strategize ways to grow and improve these efforts with new and creative methods to reach different audiences.
“Marissa has guided numerous clients to better communicate and connect with their audiences, whether those targets were community residents or multi-national brands,” said Brianne Haven, vice president of operations for RRS. “Her new role will help RRS identify the best strategies and options for our clients to create impactful messaging that connects.”
