Experience Leaders to Drive Innovation and Enhance Materials Management Consulting Services as New Shareholders
October 3, 2023, ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Resource Recycling Systems (RRS) is delighted to announce the addition of five accomplished leaders to its ownership team: Elizabeth Hughes Bowden, Hunt Briggs, Beth Coddington, Brennan Madden, and Matt Todd. As RRS experiences remarkable growth in the sustainable materials management sector, these seasoned professionals will play a pivotal role in mentoring, expanding service offerings, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality consulting services to clients.
The RRS Board of Directors, recognizing their exceptional contributions to the company over the years, has appointed these individuals as shareholders. Collectively, they have served RRS clients for more than 65 years and have demonstrated unwavering dedication to the company’s mission and its positive impact on clients and the industry at large.
Brianne Haven, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at RRS, emphasizes the significance of these appointments, stating, “The material management industry is evolving rapidly, and our decades of experience have attracted new clients and projects, expanding our portfolio of work. These changemakers have been instrumental in building RRS, nurturing our internal teams and services, and leaving a positive mark on our clients and the industry.”
The new shareholders have played a pivotal role in RRS’s growth, mentorship programs, and several of the service offerings and landmark studies that have become central to RRS’ brand in the last decade. Meet the new shareholders and their key contributions:
Elizabeth Hughes Bowden
Elizabeth Hughes Bowden currently serves as Team Resources Director and has been at RRS since 2008. Based in Lima, Ohio, she has successfully implemented systems that enabled the company to grow quickly, recruiting skilled talent and fostering inclusion and engagement in a distributed workforce. Hughes has a deep knowledge of payroll, benefits, recruitment, professional development, policy implementation, and employee engagement that will help support the company’s continued growth.

Hunt Briggs
Based in the St. Louis, Missouri area, Hunt Briggs leads RRS’s organics recovery service area. Since 2012, Briggs has brought systems thinking to RRS’s valued clients accompanied by technical proficiencies in strategy to support RRS’s clients. He champions projects involving sustainable packaging, circular economy transition, recovery strategies for organic and compostable products, performance metrics, and cultivation of industry partnerships.

Beth Coddington
Since 2006, Beth Coddington has contributed her economic skills like statistical modeling and budget projections to RRS’s projects. As an expert in residential recycling access, she has managed landmark recycling access studies and has provided strategic support to the Carton Council’s access campaign. She is based in Boulder, Colorado, and recipient of the Waste360 40 Under 40 award.

Brennan Madden
Brennan Madden has been with RRS since 2011 and is based in Berkeley, California. Madden has been integral in refining the TruCycle assessment of recyclability and compostability, modeling an optimized system of materials recovery facilities and transfer stations, and developing a database of U.S. recycling entities and infrastructure.

Matt Todd
Matt Todd leads the development of partnerships with material recovery facilities, fiber end markets, and communities to expand community recycling opportunities. He has been with RRS since 2012 and is based in Durham, North Carolina. His expertise in solid waste and recycling programs, end markets, grant programs, and the circular economy will help continue to support client needs and train the next generation of RRSers.
